We loved Buffalo but had to leave this morning to further our progress West. Today we crossed into Montana. Then travelled towards this massive mountain range and began our ascent of the Big Horn Moutains. Never have I felt so insignificant on this earth as these enormous vistas were revealed as we got higher and higher. We reached the top of the mountain range and rode across a plateau of grassland where we encountered cows and deer, as well as the occasional red squirrel intent on crossing our paths.
On the way up
Looking East back towards Wyoming
Riding across the plateau
Beginning the descent with plenty of scary signposts to slow us down!
As we reached the base of the range the views were incredible

Safely at the western side of the range we headed towards our destination for the night - Red Lodge Montana. This is a lovely western mountain town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from - our kind of place!
Stats for the day:
Day mileage: 230. Moving time: 4:20. Moving Av: 53mph
Trip total: 3192 miles
Beautiful!!!
