Having watched the weather maps for the last 6 months we knew that the Upper Peninsula of Michigan got a lot of "weather". Sure enough we got a good dose of it today. We woke with the alarm at 5:45 to the sound of wind and rain. After consulting the radar we could see that the worst of it would pass through in a couple of hours so we had breakfast at the hotel. Bikes were packed and rolling by 10:00. It was a cold, windy and drizzly start although the rain cleared as we expected. After a few hours we were a little chilled so we pulled over for coffee and ended up eating a second breakfast! Fortified we pressed on, our route bringing us along the Northern and then Western shore of Lake Michigan. We had originally intended on stopping at Manitowoc, Wisconsin for the night but somewhere along the way we decided to keep going to Milwaukee! Our original plan was to stay at the Iron Horse Hotel on Wednesday but a quick phone call got us in for an extra night! So here we are, just a stones throw from the Harley Davidson Museum, perfect! Guess where we're going tomorrow?

Still better than a day at the office!
