.....for the bikes not us! Today we rode over to Billings, MT for our 5,000 mile services. Tom had scheduled this service several weeks ago and our planning was spot on as we had 5200 miles on the bikes! They have performed flawlessly this whole trip so we figure if we look after them they will look after us. Unexpectedly, all 4 of our tires were well worn down and although it was not absolutely necessary we had them all changed to avoid an unscheduled stop in another few thousand miles - peace of mind is very valuable to us. So we had a restful day at the Beartooth Harley Dealership. We did walk a mile down the road and found an excellent Mexican Cafe where we had brunch. Unfortunately more rain on the ride back to Red Lodge.
Red Lodge is proving to be a bit of a damp squib! The "big sky" is full of grey cloud and keeps raining on us. Tomorrow we had planned on riding over the Beartooth Highway but as this reaches an elevation of almost 11,000 feet and was apparently seeing sleet and snow(!), we may have to give it a miss. We will consult the weather maps tomorrow.
Red Lodge Inn - popular with Bikers!
Parked outside the service area
As usual, beautiful pics. Especially the broad vistas. Did you decide to give Yellowstone a miss?
