Fully restored we jumped back on the bikes and hit the fun twisty Route 20. My research had indicated it would be a great motorcycle road and I was not wrong.
First up was a quick stop to look at the Crystal Falls:
The views from the top were amazing and my pathetic little photo does not do it justice.
The temperatures were in the comfortable low 80's whilst up high (5,500 ft.) but once we descended in to the valley below we got hotter and hotter. At one point the air temperature was 101 degrees!! Not much fun in a full face helmet and full leathers. Thankfully once we climbed out of the river valley things cooled down a little bit.
We made it to our lodging for the night in the small town of Twisp. I can't really remember why I chose this town to stop at, other than the fact I loved the name! We are staying at the Twisp River Suites hotel. We were very happy when they suggested we pull our bikes up onto the pavement outside our room.
Our room overlooks the Twisp River
We had a very nice meal at the local Mexican Restaurant and had a walk around town, which didn't take very long as it is all of 2 blocks.
Tom tells me that this is a "Farmpunk" sculpture!
