Day 7. Montana!

It was a beautiful day today, a great day for heading West on Route 2. First stop was to fill up with gas and check the air in the tires.

We soon left North Dakota behind, advanced into another time zone (gaining an hour) and entered the 9th State of the trip so far!! Finally we are in Montana.

It always amazes me how the scenery changes as we travel along. We are now climbing in elevation and seeing more wide open landscapes. Montana truly is Big Sky Country.

For the early part of the day our route paralleled the Missouri River and we were following the Lewis & Clark Trail.

Once again empty roads lent the opportunity for Tom to get some action shots.

We came across an interesting roadside attraction:

We arrived in Havre, Montana in time for a coffee before checking in to our hotel for the night. We are making it an early night - we have a big day tomorrow.
